Steve Oldfield

Steve is a business leader with over 25 years’ experience as a senior executive and board member. Having started his career in consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble, he held Managing Director roles with Sanofi in Mexico, Thailand, South Korea and the UK and was then global Chief Operating Officer of consumer health company PGT Healthcare.

Steve was appointed Chief Commercial Officer and Director General at the UK Department of Health and Social Care in 2017, where he devised a novel 5-year pricing and market access agreement with the pharma industry, created a new vision for a Life Sciences strategy and led commercial and supply operations throughout Brexit and COVID-19. Steve was awarded a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in 2021 in recognition of his work on the COVID 19 response. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Health Innovation Manchester and a previous NED of Genomics England.

Born in Stockport, Steve is a talented linguist, speaking 5 languages fluently. His great passion is watching, coaching and playing football, and he is a regular yoga practitioner.
