Adrian brings to Portland the perspective of a highly experienced solicitor, legal counsel and arbitrator. Prior to joining Portland, he was a Partner in international law firm Osborne Clarke LLP for 25 years where he headed the firm’s Commercial Disputes practice in London and was Global Chair of its International Arbitration Group.
Over his career, Adrian has worked on cases involving all types of commercial disputes, with large sums of money and valuable reputations at stake. This includes disputes involving antitrust, construction & engineering, employee rights, finance, fraud, IP, joint ventures, libel, partnership, post M&A, professional negligence, shareholder rights, supply of goods/services, termination of contracts, valuations, and more. His sector experience extends across construction and infrastructure, energy and natural resources, finance, media and entertainment, retail, transport and aviation, and technology. Adrian has worked on cases in and/or involving parties across the globe, in particular the UK, Europe, Middle East, CIS, Asia and the USA.
Adrian works closely with Portland’s specialist Litigation Communications and Disputes practice, who provide strategic communications solutions to clients involved in a range of critical legal matters and dispute resolution processes, including high-stakes litigation and arbitration cases, class actions, regulatory investigations, judicial reviews, and other multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes.
Adrian currently practices as an Arbitrator and Mediator at Arbitra International based in London, Abu Dhabi and Washington DC and he became a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2012.
