James is an expert in Labour Party policy and engagement. He worked as a Labour Special Adviser in the Cabinet Office, covering a wide range of areas including the UK’s relationship with the EU, constitutional reform and wider cross-government coordination. While working for Labour in Opposition, James also focused on policy areas including Home Affairs, DWP and International Trade.
He has a wealth of experience gained through a wide range of political roles, including campaigns, media engagement, public affairs and communications, as well as from being a Senior Adviser in London’s City Hall.
Since joining Portland, James has been recognised for an award as one of the UK’s top 100 political consultants.
