Starmer’s Stars: 30 stand-out candidates set to make waves in Westminster

The Labour Party has now picked well over half of its candidates for the next general election – and the picture emerging of Starmer’s new guard is that it is an intake likely to be defined by big ambitions, ideas and experience.

In Starmer’s Stars, we have identified 30 parliamentary hopefuls, in winnable seats, with profiles that stand out from the pack.

With backgrounds aligned to the Labour leader’s missions for government, these PPCs are tipped as ones-to-watch on the economy, health and life sciences, energy and sustainability, tech, built-environment and housing, creative industries, defence and international development.

Starmer’s Stars includes insight from Alastair Campbell, Senior Advisor at Portland and former Director of Communications and Strategy for Tony Blair; Jade Botterill, Portland Director and Labour PPC for Ossett and Denby Dale, along with Steve Morris, Portland Chair and Gabriel Milland, Head of Research at Portland and a former senior government communications adviser.
