The Quarterly: The Partnerships edition

The Quarterly: The Partnerships edition
Businesswoman and businessman shaking hands.

Welcome to issue 6 of the Portland Quarterly.
In the first edition of 2012, we focus on the theme of partnerships. Across politics and business, between the public and private sectors, and at a grassroots, national and international level, we are forging new collaborative working relationships and scrutinising our existing partnerships.
Some of the key highlights in this issue include an article by Portland’s Chief Policy Advisor, James O’Shaughnessy, who takes a look at the Coalition government’s progress as we approach the second anniversary of the political partnership. We also welcome Tom Harris, Labour MP for Glasgow South, who puts forward his pro-union views in the topical Scottish independence debate and Kevin McKeever, Head of Portland Local, looks ahead to this year’s regional mayoral referendums and considers the new relationships that will need to be developed between business and local government.
We hope you enjoy the read.
