Anthony Simon, currently Head of Digital Communication at the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Office, will join Portland’s international team from Mid-May, advising clients including national and local governments, multinational corporates, and international foundations.
Anthony will be based in London primarily where he will support Portland’s digital work with clients around the world, working alongside Portland colleagues in New York, Washington DC, Doha and Nairobi.
As Head of Digital Communication at Number 10 since March 2013, Anthony was responsible for all digital communication output and engagement for the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet Office, including cross-Government campaigns. He leads a team of 15 campaigners, content editors, technical staff and film makers. Anthony joined number 10 in 2011 initially where he led Downing Street’s digital campaigns. Anthony is also Deputy Director of the Government Communication Service (GCS) overseeing improving standards, capability and delivery of digital communication across all Government departments. Anthony previously worked at the Central Office of Information, and as a digital specialist and journalist at the BBC.
